All Local, All The Time

Familiar Face: Lori Shrader

With one of Niwot's favorite summer concert series, Rock & Rails, in full swing, regular concert goers are beginning to recognize some regular volunteers behind the bar at the alcohol building known as The Depot. Many of these volunteers have been returning over the years and have become Familiar Faces to the Niwot community.

Lori Shrader has been volunteering at Rock & Rails for the past nine years. Always serving beverages with a smile and having fun with her fellow volunteers behind the bar, she keeps returning because the impact this annual concert series has on her is immeasurable.

Shrader credits her tenure to not only the Rock & Rails committee and fellow volunteers, but the familiar faces she sees every week and every summer. "I love the energy and the music," she explained, in addition to how fun it is seeing everyone again each year and reconnecting.

Shrader was initially recruited by Dan Hawk, one of the co-managers of Rock & Rails. Hawk interviewed Shrader for a position at Edward Jones, financial advisors in Niwot, hired her, and Shrader has been the Branch Office Administrator at Edward Jones for the past eight years.

A Colorado native, Shrader resides in Longmont. When she is not actively working or volunteering and being involved with the Niwot community, gardening is her hobby of choice. "I am also studying to be Healing Touch certified," she added. Healing Touch is very similar to Reiki, Shrader explained.

Be sure to drop by Rock & Rails this summer if you have not yet already said "Hi" to Schrader to make her, and other volunteers, your new best friend.

The Courier will continue to feature more familiar faces behind the bar as the summer continues.
