All Local, All The Time

Familiar Face - Valentina Godat, the face behind Yum Yum Limeade

Saturday mornings are the best time to visit the Niwot Market, whether it be to stock up on ingredients for dinner or to grab breakfast with loved ones. You will not be alone, because Valentina Godat runs a pop-up stand for her limeade business, Yum Yum Limeade, at the Niwot Market every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or until she sells out.

Godat and her mother, Larissa Godat, can be seen around town with a bright green sign and a pop-up table on Saturdays at the Niwot Market and at local events. From the 4th of July parade to Niwot's Enchanted Evening, Yum Yum Limeade may be there.

Valentina is an incoming senior at Niwot High School this year. Impressively, she has been running Yum Yum Limeade since third grade. This summer is her eighth year in business.

While the Godat family has only lived in Niwot for five years, they've made a significant impact on the Niwot community. In their short time in the community, Valentina has become a well known upstanding student within the Niwot High School community, and Larissa has made a name for herself in Niwot as a freelance hairstylist and makeup artist.

The support that Yum Yum Limeade has received from the Niwot community over the years has not gone unappreciated. From Blessings Day Spa allowing the duo to set up pop-ups during events in front of their building, to the Niwot Market allowing them to use its space and facilities, the community has come together to embrace this small business.

"This is definitely the most welcoming and cute town I've lived in and it's my hope that after college I'll be able to live here permanently," said Valentina.

Yum Yum Limeade is both sweet and sour, and very tasty. The ingredients include fresh squeezed limes, organic lime juice, lime oil, apple cider vinegar, nutritional Boulder salt, agave, monkfruit, stevia, blackberries, and an assortment of herbs and plants. Further details on their recipe and pricing can be found on Instagram @yum_yum_limeade.

Valentina's love for her customers has made her small business stand out from others. "It sounds cheesy but I genuinely love seeing people's reactions to the limeade," she said. "It always makes me happy that other people like it as much as us."

As Valentina begins her senior year at Niwot High School, she plans to attend Colorado State University after graduation and study landscape architecture. While in college, she plans to continue running Yum Yum Limeade in the hopes that it will be able to help fund her continuing education.
