All Local, All The Time
Rock & Rails summer concerts continue on Thursday, Aug. 1, with the opening act starting at 5 p.m. and the headliner lighting up the stage at 6:30 p.m.
This week Strangebyrds will be starting off the night right with folk/rock and Americana style music. With six award-winning releases, they're sure to wow the crowd. Band members Cari Minor and Ray Smith have worked together since 2011 with their first release, the self-titled "Strangebyrds." They have since produced and released six more excellent albums such as "Migration," "Highway Islands," and "Star Crossed Lovers."
Headlining the Aug. 1 show will be the popular Last Men On Earth. From classic pop and rock to occasional country music and even featuring recent hits, Last Men On Earth does it all. As a recurring headliner at the Niwot's annual summer concert series, crowds rush to see this local band work its magic on stage and put on incredible performances each year.
The current members of this six-piece band include Greg Jacyszyn on vocals, Niwot High School graduate Mark Trippensee on drums and vocals, Tim Powell on bass guitar, Jason Olson on guitar and vocals, Reece Morse on keyboard and vocals, and Niwot resident Mike Holubec on guitar and vocals.
Each musician contributes their unique vocals to the band's performance making for an enjoyable blend of voices accompanying the instruments.
Tip jar recipients for this week will be Via Mobility Services and the Niwot Cultural Arts Association's Niwot Sculpture Park project.
Niwot Sculpture Park is a community-supported park created with the cooperation of Cottonwood Park West Homeowners Association and Boulder County at the intersection of Niwot Road and 79th Street near downtown Niwot. The Sculpture Park features the work of renowned local, regional, and international artists. The park provides the community with an intimate setting to view and enjoy different forms of art. All proceeds will go to the expansion and maintenance of the park.
Via Mobility Services is a nonprofit charitable organization headquartered in Boulder, which is committed to empowering people with limited mobility by offering comprehensive transportation solutions along the Front Range, including Niwot. Via's goal is to provide tailored, responsive and quality mobility services to thousands of older adults, people with disabilities, low-income individuals, and rural residents. with quality transportation options throughout Colorado's Front Range.
