All Local, All The Time
Niwot is a welcoming place for businesses of all kinds. From spas, to restaurants, to family owned shops, Niwot has proved to be a great place for businesses to thrive. This upcoming month, Niwot will welcome Love Ice Cream to the community at 240 Second Avenue between the Bader House and Blessings Day Spa in the former Seven Wealth office location..
Love Ice Cream will open in early to mid-September with a ribbon-cutting Grand Opening ceremony and free single scoops for the first 100 customers.
"Love Ice Cream is our love letter to the community of Niwot and our five children - Dylan, Reagan, Krys, Grayson, and Carter," said Katy Love, the owner of Love Ice Cream. Love emphasized the importance of family and community "We wanted to add a special place to the downtown area where students, families, residents, and visitors can frequent and gather together."
Love Ice Cream is locally sourced and a premium ice cream from High Point Creamery. With over a dozen flavors including non-dairy options, Love Ice Cream will offer a variety of seasonal flavors throughout the year, hand selected by those who love ice cream the most, "Our children helped taste test the flavors we'll offer," said Love.
The ice cream shop was a result of the family's many biking adventures to eat and browse in local stores. The family saw a need for a Niwot ice cream shop, and Love said that once the perfect location opened up on Second Avenue, they jumped at the opportunity to open "We Love Ice Cream."
Katy Love moved to Niwot in early 2012 to run Global Communications for Crocs footwear. "My first 'temporary' home was the Niwot Inn," she said. "So, it's only fitting that 12 years later, my husband, Vincent and I, with our last names being "Love," open an ice cream shop down the street," Love said.
The Loves are excited to share their vision with the community and open Love Ice Cream. Not only are they wanting the shop to become a welcoming space to gather, they hope to continue seeing downtown Niwot flourish. "We look forward to contributing to the local Niwot economy by creating jobs and drawing visitors to downtown Niwot," Love said. Follow along with their journey on Instagram @niwotloveicecream.
