Shelby American Collection Car Museum raffles car

As part of the 28th Annual Shelby American Collection Museum Car Show and Party on Saturday, Aug. 31, a brand new 2022 Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition with 760 HP, hand painted with "Over-the-Top" white stripes plus blue pinstripes, customized by Ford Performance and equipped with the Carbon Fiber Track Package, GT4 track wing and Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 2 tires, plus a $25,000 cash bonus, was awarded to the winning ticket holder, James Lenihan, of Illinois.

Two hundred people were in attendance to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang with an open bar and a generous buffet that included several barbecued meats, salads, bread and cookies. An ice cream truck was a sweet finale as guests listened to presentations by museum partners, and former racing team members. Several auction tables were busy taking bids for an array of memorabilia. Posters were given to all attendees to acquire signatures of celebrities at the autograph table.

But the star of the evening, in addition to the museum collection and the event space itself, was the abundance of attendees' collector cars that filled the parking lots and streets. Many beautiful Shelbys, Mustangs and Cobras, as well as Aston Martins, Bentleys, Ferraris, Porsches, and Firebirds were represented. Reminder: watch the Ford vs Ferrari movie again.
