All Local, All The Time

Niwot Branch of Bank of Estes Park welcomes new branch manager

The Niwot branch of the Bank of Estes Park has a new Branch Manager, Kim Reiber, with big plans for the bank's involvement in the community.

"I'm super excited to be working in a small town," Reiber said. "I absolutely love working in the community and volunteering and going to lunch at all the little local places. It was my favorite part of working in Olde Town Arvada. I went to lunch at all the local places in town, shopped in all the stores, and had dinner at the restaurants. I just love being involved."

Reiber, who replaces former branch manager Terry Gushiken, has been in banking for 37 years, and spent the past six years with Collegiate Peaks Bank. She said, "My mom was a banker so it was in my blood. I remember walking around the credit union when I was little on Saturdays when she was working. I became a teller as a senior in high school and I just kept going." Reiber majored in marketing in college.

Reiber is a native of Colorado after her parents moved here from Germany and New York. She said, "My dad looked at my mom at Christmas time and said, 'Will you go on an adventure with me?' and from there they explored the mountains together."

She continued, "I have always been an outdoors person. I just started paddle boarding and I love being outside and working in my garden. Niwot is beautiful, I'm here to help and I'm excited to learn more about the community and get involved."

Reiber gives this advice for those wanting to be a bank branch manager, "The best way to become a manager is to start at the bottom. You work as a teller, you do customer service, you open new accounts, so then you have experience when you lead and you can say 'I've been there, I've done that,' and better assist with the situation. The more you know the better you are at helping others."

According to the branch, "Bank of Estes Park was formed in 1965 with the goal of being the best small, community bank in its trade area, and continues with that mission to this day. The bank offers the full spectrum of personal and business banking products, as well as all types of residential mortgage loans, home equity lines and loans, commercial real estate mortgages and business loans."

The Niwot branch has been around since 1994 but was recently restructured and remodeled to better meet the banking needs of the local community. It is located next to the Niwot Market at 7980 Niwot Road.

Reiber echoed the branch's goals: "We're here to help both as your bankers and as volunteers for whatever community events people might need. We want to be involved."
