All Local, All The Time
Ok. Here comes the rain again.
Who didn't love that sweet smelling, ground drenching rain that fell on Saturday night and into Sunday? Didn't we all sleep well under the sound of a soothing blanket of water falling gently on our homes and gardens? It wasn't a torrential downpour, and it wasn't accompanied by near hurricane force winds. It was just rain. What a relief! I love a rainy night.
But you know what that means? The grass will once again be green, the flowers will perk up and we will step a little lighter in the cool, moist air.
It also means beautiful autumn is right on schedule with its rich colors and crisp air. Of course, that also means a cold long winter is lurking close behind. But that is a subject for another day.
Let's focus on the rain for now.
There is a certain rhythm to the falling rain, don't you think?
Have you ever seen the rain? I am sure we all remember rain although we might forget what it looks and feels like over the long hot summer.
Before we start singing in the rain that keeps falling on our heads, check to see if it is purple. Purple rain is pretty unusual. But it might cause you to laugh in the rain, hopefully with the one you love.
Some equate fire and rain. Perhaps it is because those scorching summer days that you thought would never end, ultimately do. And what signals the end of summer better than a welcome rain?
Have you ever tried to set fire to the rain? Just watch a beautiful sunset while it is lightly raining. That is fire and rain in action.
If you are lucky, it might result in a rainbow. And you know that somewhere over that rainbow is a pot of gold. Have you ever chased a rainbow? You may not find that pot of gold, but the chase is worth the effort. Because rain and rainbows are what dreams are made of. And dreams keep us alive, come rain or come shine.
Grab your umbrella, or just let the raindrops fall on your head and enjoy the relief. Pretty soon we will look up and say, "Here comes the sun." Rainy days don't get me down.
So go ahead and rain on me.
Rain, I don't mind. The weather's fine.
