All Local, All The Time
Boulder Open Space and Parks Management (OSPM) announced that two local trails will be closed. A news release regarding the Heatherwood Trail connection to Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat states:
"A portion of the Heatherwood Trail at Walden Ponds will be closed for about one month beginning Monday, Nov. 4, for a City of Boulder sewer line project. Visitors will not be able to connect between Heatherwood Trail and the trails at Walden Ponds. #boco_trails"

Additionally, the Hidden Star portion of the Niwot trails will be closed until November 28. Please see the accompanying map for the posted detour.

The Treacherous Journey South is a narrated slideshow by a local naturalist that will focus on the southward migration for birds' winter months showing risks of man-made obstacles and predators as birds search for their winter homes. Required registration form can be found here.

Gobble! Gobble! Wild Turkey Program presents turkey facts including how fast they run and where they live in the Front Range (such as in and around the streets of Gunbarrel). A short hike with crafts and games is included. Required registration form can be found here.
November 16, 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Through Time and Stone: Exploring Geology at Hall Ranch. Volunteer naturalists will take participants on a 2.5-mile hike to witness and discuss the millions of years of rock, canyon and mountain formation that have resulted in incredible views. Required registration form found here.
November 19, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Lyons Library, 451 4th Avenue, Lyons
Birds of Prey Slideshow Program. Volunteers will give a fun, fact-filled slideshow on raptors in the Boulder skies including hawks, eagles and falcons with instruction on how to identify them in the field. Registration information can be found here.

Twin Lakes, 6500 Nautilus Drive, Gunbarrel
Hikes For Seniors - Wildlife in your Backyard. Volunteers will join seniors in an easy walk as they discuss how to enjoy fascinating creatures that live near our homes. A look is given at the diverse wildlife that inhabits the Boulder plains including mammals, birds, insects and reptiles. Registration information can be found here.
