Niwot's Porchfront Homes passes to new owners

In a significant transition for one of Niwot's cornerstone businesses, Porchfront Homes announced new ownership effective Jan 1, 2025, as long-time project managers Brett Steury and Ben Beveridge took the reins from retiring owners Tim and Mary Coonce.

The change in leadership marks the beginning of a new era for the well-established construction company while maintaining its deep roots in the community. Steury and Beveridge, who have each dedicated nearly two decades to Porchfront Homes, are stepping into their new roles after working closely with the Coonces for over 20 years.

The retiring owners, who guided the business for more than four decades, consider their successors "part of the family" and are confident in the future of the company under their leadership.

Operating from a beautifully restored early 1900s bank building in downtown historic Niwot, Porchfront Homes has established itself as a premier custom home builder and remodeler in Boulder County.

The new owners have already put their stamp on the business, recently renovating the showroom while carefully preserving historical elements such as the original brick walls inside. The space maintains its welcoming atmosphere, complete with a kitchen featuring craft beer on tap brewed by Beveridge for community events such as Let's Wine About Winter and Around the World Day.

Under the new leadership structure, Steury will head the New Construction Division while Beveridge will oversee the Remodel Division. Their portfolio encompasses custom homes, minor subdivisions, small commercial projects, and remodeling work ranging from single rooms to complete house renovations. Porchfront Homes has also been a "go-to" contractor for various public projects around Niwot, including construction of The Depot building at Whistle Stop Park for the Niwot Cultural Arts Association, as well as finishing work on the Niwot Parking Lot on Murray Street.

The transition maintains stability for Porchfront's loyal workforce, with most employees having served the company for a decade or more which is a rarity in the construction industry known for high turnover. The new ownership has confirmed that all current staff will remain with the company, preserving the institutional knowledge and team dynamics that have contributed to Porchfront's success.

While ownership has changed hands, the business model and values remain consistent. The company continues to specialize in new construction and remodels, focusing on quality craftsmanship and strong client relationships. Porchfront's commitment to the Niwot community remains steadfast, with continued participation in local events and organizations.

As Porchfront Homes enters this new chapter, Steury and Beveridge are focused on growing the business while honoring the foundation laid by their predecessors.

The company continues to welcome clients through both walk-in visits and scheduled appointments at their historic 102 2nd Avenue location, where they blend traditional charm with modern functionality in their newly updated showroom and office space.
