All Local, All The Time

Winter and wine sound just fine

Whining about winter will be put on hold in favor of the wondrous world of wine at Let's Wine About Winter 2025 this Saturday Feb. 8, in the Niwot Business District.

Starting at 1:00 p.m., businesses throughout downtown Niwot and Cottonwood Square will celebrate the Eighth Annual Let's Wine About Winter event, sponsored by the Niwot Cultural Arts Association (NCAA), with funding from the Niwot Local Improvement District.

Anne Postle and Kristin Alger are coordinating the event again this year.

Let's Wine About Winter is one of Niwot's favorite community events, with over 500 attending last year. Those who have purchased a ticket become a member of an exclusive club, and will receive a souvenir mug with a special design to commemorate Niwot's sesquicentennial, as well as a tote bag and a $10 coupon redeemable at participating businesses throughout Niwot.

Participating stores will provide wine tastings, non-alcoholic drinks, and even some hors d'oeuvres.

One of last year's attendees, Kevin Sullivan, compared the event to EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival, deeming Niwot's event better due to the closer community feel. "It was great to pair wine with food spreads," said Sullivan. Several businesses provide a selection of culinary pairings, including some youthful street vendors selling cookies paired with appropriate wine.

Not only is this a premier opportunity to engage with other community members, but it also serves as an excellent occasion to explore and support many of Niwot's businesses. Visitors w(h)ine for good as ticket proceeds benefit Whistle Stop Park and the Niwot Children's Park.

Participating businesses in Cottonwood Square include Belle Terre Floral, Chico's Grooming Spa, Edward Jones - Dan Hawk, Inkberry Books, Left Hand Valley Courier, Niwot Market, Niwot Tavern, Pebble Arts Jewelry, The Little Shop at Niwot, The Nook, and Warren, Carlson & Moore Attorneys.

Participating businesses in Old Town include Blessings Day Spa, Cimmini's Italian Restaurant, Design 4 Living, DRF Real Estate - Slifer Smith & Frampton, Few of a Kind Vintage, Little Bird, Love Ice Cream, Niwot Cultural Arts Association Tree Carving Committee, Niwot Group - Compass, Niwot Hall with Bill Enyart, Niwot Jewelry & Gifts, Niwot Liquor, Niwot Natural Medicine, Niwot Pizza, Osmosis Gallery, Porchfront Homes, Rotary Club of Niwot, Second Nature Hair Lounge, The Niwot Inn, The Wheel House, and Wise Buys Antiques. Niwot United Methodist Church is also participating in the event at The Emporium.
