All Local, All The Time

Artist Bill Enyart and community explore artistic process

Local artist Bill Enyart invited the community to join him while he creates his art at Niwot Hall for the first "Artist in Action" event at Let's Wine About Winter on Feb. 8.

Enyart will continue to engage the community in his real time art creation on Feb. 14 from 1 - 5:00 p.m. and Feb. 28 from 5 - 8:00 p.m. where the public can experience his creative process firsthand.

The highlight of the free series will take place on Valentine's Day when Enyart will be joined by a group of artists from the Plein Air Artists of Colorado (PAAC), including Boulder artists Linda Bice, Kath Reilly, Dennis Mueller, Dale Harding, and Gail Denton.

Visitors will have the opportunity to watch these artists at work, interact with them, and even purchase completed paintings, with 30% of each sale going to support Niwot Hall, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

Niwot Hall has become a cultural hub for both artists and the community, hosting a rotating display of artwork from local artists, creating a space where creativity and community intersect. Artists creating at Niwot Hall enhances the space for the community, provides artists with a platform to showcase and sell their work, and helps generate funds for the historic venue.

Enyart's journey with plein air painting began with the PAAC Boulder group, chaired by Niwot resident and artist Carolyn Bradley. Inspired by her involvement at Niwot Hall, Enyart took the opportunity to display his own work after Bradley's term ended. However, realizing that the venue was typically only open during scheduled events, Enyart proposed organizing his own painting sessions-an idea that has since grown into a series of interactive experiences for the public.

"I wanted to open the Hall to visitors while painting local scenes," Enyart said. His enthusiasm for both community engagement and artistic expression has made these events a unique opportunity for visitors to see the creative process unfold in real time.

In addition to painting, Enyart also works in kiln-formed glass, creating intricate pieces through layering, fusing, and shaping various glass elements. Some of these works may be on display during the Valentine's Day event, alongside paintings from other participating artists.
