Niwot's first First Friday Art Walk of 2025 will occur on March 7, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Old Town Niwot and in Cottonwood Square.
"It's easier to hold the events when it's warmer and lighter outside, although we still had a great turnout in December before the holidays, so we are excited for the year coming up," said Coordinator Anne Postle.
Postle estimates the First Friday Art Walks have been occurring since 2010. The events are sponsored by the Niwot Cultural Arts Association and hosted by several businesses, including Osmosis Art & Architecture, The Wheel House, Niwot Jewelry & Gifts, and Inkberry Books.
"Osmosis is featuring Lonny Granston, a Boulder artist and family practice physician," Postle said. "His works are really vibrant and dramatic pastel pieces. Inkberry Books often features an artist and an author. The Niwot Local Improvement District supports live music, so we try to have musicians playing outside three to four places around town."
First Friday Art Walk is a great opportunity for the entire family to view local art around the town as well as visit some of the charming restaurants and businesses in Niwot. This year, the six First Friday Art Walks will be held in March, June, July (held on the second Friday due to the July 4th holiday), August, September and December.
