Road Closure News
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT ) announced March 6 that the Jay Road median between northbound and southbound CO 119/Diagonal Highway was reopened four days earlier than the announced March 10 completion date as CDOT worked to minimize the closure's traffic impact.
Within five days of the closure, crews completed the bikeway underpass at Jay Road which also included:
• Installing pipe for the underpass drainage.
• Installing 114 feet of pre-cast concrete boxes for the underpass.
• Waterproofing the underpass.
• Backfilling approximately 1,200 cubic yards of material.
• Replacing the temporary roadway back on top of the underpass to reopen traffic.
From March 10 -14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the left-hand turn lane on the westbound lane on Colorado Highway 52 at CO 119 will be closed for earthwork work.
From March 10 -14, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be shoulder closures on southbound CO 119 between Jay and Airport roads.
From March 13 -14, Reservoir Trail in the median between northbound and southbound CO 119 will be partially closed as crews complete bikeway connection work. Impacts from this work:
• One lane of Reservoir Trail will be closed in the CO 119/Diagonal Highway median.
• Signage will indicate the closure area and flaggers will be present during active work to guide travelers through the area.
