Almost every month, Niwot High School principal Eric Rauschkolb nominates three outstanding students to the Rotary Club of Niwot to be considered as the club’s “Student of the Month.” These students are heavily dedicated to their academics, extra-curriculars, and outside volunteerism. The Rotary Club then decides who has earned the honor of being named as the club’s “Student of the Month.”
This past February, the Rotary Club of Niwot named Eliana Henriques as the “Student of the Month.”
Henriques, a senior at NHS, excels in all her activities, curricular and beyond. With a 4.27 GPA, Henriques is also involved in the National Honor Society, is a member of the Athletic Leadership Academy at NHS and the NHS Black Student Union Club.
She has been on the NHS varsity track and field team her entire Niwot career attending multiple state championships, qualifying for both the Indoor and Outdoor Nike Championships, and was named a New Balance All-American. She has also captured individual state championships in the Sprint Med Relay, the 4x200 relay, and the 4x400 relay.
Outside of school, Henriques has written letters for the Letters Against Depression organization which provides support to those battling mental illnesses. She has volunteered with the Oncology Unit at UC Health and Longs Peak Hospital, and has spent time helping build homes with Habitat for Humanity.
After she graduates from NHS in May, her plans will take her to South Carolina to attend Clemson University. There, Henriques intends to study biology to further her career in the world of medicine. She is the daughter of Maurice and Christina Henriques.
Congratulations to Eliana Henriques and her family for this achievement.
