The www.nhsef.org/" target="_blank">Niwot High School Education Foundation (NHSEF) is preparing for its annual online auction, set for April 9-13. Proceeds from the auction support teachers, staff and Niwot High School seniors through scholarships and grants.
Seniors at Niwot High School have the opportunity to win merit-based, needs-based, and technical school scholarships. The event, formerly an in-person live and silent auction, became an online auction before the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained online to better serve today's digital audience.
The auction and donations also fund several grants to benefit students. "The NHSEF has awarded several grants this year, which teachers and staff at Niwot High School apply for," said Angela Hudgins, NHSEF Communications Officer. "Recent grants include equipment for programs such as Music, Theater, Math, English, and other departments."
The April online auction will offer 230 items for bidding, double the number from earlier years. The expansion is attributed to the enthusiastic energy and organization skills of the new auction director, Daniel Simon, as well as Hadley Solomon, for her past leadership in creating the online auction. The auction can be found at galabid.com/2025nhsef.
Local businesses have shown strong support for the auction and the NHSEF's mission by donating auction items and providing volunteers. The foundation is also grateful for the support of many parent volunteers and the community for their generosity in supporting the local education system. Many auction items are digitally distributed, making them accessible to those outside the local area, and participants are encouraged to share the auction with friends and family. Additionally, direct donation options are available both within the auction platform and on the NHSEF website at http://www.nhsef.org.
Hudgins said, "We are excited to host a series of executive functioning support right now with Untapped Learning. Recently our math team was able to attend a conference on using math technology to support the classroom."
Other notable recent grants include funding a piece of high-tech LED lighting equipment for the NHS Theater Department which will benefit all of the school's future productions. Additionally, Niwot High School students secured first, second, and third-place finishes in the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge, which was an achievement made possible through NHSEF supported programs.
The NHSEF mission remains committed to enrich the academic experience through learning and teaching grants, to expand opportunities for students to explore future educational and professional paths, and to provide scholarships to Niwot High School students to help them achieve their goals.
